Chickens in Schools – the fun begins!

If you’re a regular reader of this little old blog, you may recall that earlier this year, I wrote about my collaboration with Slow Food Ireland and our competition to put Chickens in Schools .

In the past week,  I have visited two of the winning schools with Emma from Old McDonalds Farm Store to deliver the eagerly awaited chickens.

I haven’t had SO much fun in a long time.

One of the schools we visited was in Bagenalstown, Co Carlow and KCLR96fm were on hand to record the proceedings.  Listen to this – I promise it will do your heart good…..

Aren’t those children just a tonic?  (The photos I used to accompany this piece were mostly taken here in the garden over the past year or so).

There are still more schools to visit after the Halloween break and I just can’t wait!
